PHILOSOPHY

I provide compassionate, life-affirming support for you and your loved ones. My role is non-medical: I cannot perform clinical or medicalized task; instead, I focus on presence, guidance, listening and care that honors the whole person.

  • Respect and neutrality:  I do not impose my personal values, beliefs or biases. Every individual and family is unique, and I honor their choices.

  • Family-centered care:  I recognize that the individual and their family form the unit of care. I never take the place of partners, relatives, or other care providers, but rather complement and support them.

  • Holistic understanding:  I acknowledge the spiritual and emotional dimensions of each person and provide services within that broader context.

  • Empowerment:  I promote informed decision-making and support maximum self-determination for both the individual and their family.

  • Collaboration: I am a team player, contributing a distinct role that complements the expertise of others involved in care.

  • Options for End of Life:  Discussions about other options that are now available.

LEGACY AND LIFE REVIEW

As someone approaches the end of life, it can be meaningful to reflect on their journey and share their story. This process offers an opportunity — through words, objects, or images — to capture lessons learned, treasured memories, and the values that shaped a life.

I would have conversations about how a person wishes to be remembered, their specific memories, their life lessons to be passed on to their loved ones, and then can grow into a collaborative project with family members. Together, we can gather stories, photographs, letters, or other meaningful items that reflect the individual’s unique life and spirit.

I then compile these reflections into a booklet — a keepsake that can be shared with anyone the loved one chooses. This booklet serves as a lasting gift, offering comfort, connection, and a way to carry forward memories and wisdom for future generations.
